Roger Anthony Whiting is an American artist. This
multi instrumentalist, songwriter and producer lives and works in Los Angeles,
California. Roger was born in Brooklyn, New
York. At the age of eleven, his family
relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
While growing up in Florida he pursued his love of music. This began with seven years of guitar and
bass guitar lessons followed by four years of piano lessons. After graduating high school, Roger began
voice training with the renowned Kay Kramer, who has worked with Scott Weiland
of Stone Temple Pilots and has trained Matt Kramer, lead singer of Saigon Kick.
He relocated to Los Angeles,
California in 2000, where his musical ambitions flourished. Roger composed and performed the soundtrack
for the Independent film Poet Head,
written and directed by Rawle Lewis, best known for his role in Cool Runnings.
He performed the guitar parts for the Jeff McMahon film Sleep In Heavenly Peace scored by Dave Holden. He collaborated on
mixing a scene for the Independent film God’s
Army Two. To further his abilities in producing and engineering, Roger was
hired by Studio City Sound, which is owned and operated by two-time Grammy
winner Tom Weir. Using his developing abilities, Roger released the independent
CD, Somewhere In Pasadena by Cali on ITunes.
This release led to Roger becoming a member of The McGrath Project led by Gary McGrath,
former member of Bowling for Soup and
Deep Blue Something. The McGrath Project toured
Southern California in 2012. In 2013, Roger was featured on the cover of MusiciansFriend in recognition of his
talents. Roger Anthony Whiting writes, composes, produces his music, and plays
most of the instruments on his releases.
