Description

Scott Ruth is an American songwriter and producer. His debut album 'The Weight of It All', was conceived during a time of major growth and change. Written and recorded mostly in his home studio in Southern California, these songs are a direct result of the weight of it all.

"'The Weight of It All' was an interesting experience for me. It was my first time producing something for myself, and playing most of the instruments on the record. That made it very difficult to step back and see if what I was creating was really any good or not, but I think the outcome is something very unique. I see the record as a rare documentation of what happens when you throw yourself into a world with all these unknowns and obstacles and what it sounds like to come out the other side. I wanted to limit myself to just the bare essentials of what a producer like myself would really need to make a great record in today's DIY industry. I wanted to set those limits for myself in studio with no fancy pieces of outboard gear or heavy production to make sure that once all the bells and whistles were stripped away, the songs would still be able to stand on their own."
