Take some pleasantly catchy melodies, add heartfelt lyrics and innovative drum beats and the result is Social Potion – a Toronto indie pop-rock duo with a very full sound. Social Potion are married couple Carmen Toth and Aaron Jones. She’s on vocals, guitar, keyboard and she writes the songs. He’s on drums and occasionally guitar and keyboard. Their energetic and edgy sound has been compared to Kate Bush, Fiest, The B-52’s, Blue Rodeo, The GoGo’s, Jane Siberry, Tori Amos, Tom Petty, The White Stripes, Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac.
Before Social Potion began performing live together in 2005, singer-songwriter Carmen Toth made her debut at Toronto’s Renaissance Café in 2002, and released her first EP album “Potional” in 2004. “Potional” would later become the name inspiration for “Social Potion”. In 2010, Social Potion recorded their self-titled EP album, released for sale in 2011.
You can’t fake passion. That’s what makes these guys so special.
