This NoiseTrade exclusive EP features the title track from the Hawk's debut full-length (due October 29th, 2013) along with 4 exclusive mixes and outtakes from the band's studio creations. The Hawk In Paris formed when three college friends reunited to explore music outside the realm of their day jobs. The Hawk In Paris is made up of writer/lyricist Dan Haseltine (Jars of Clay), producer/writer Matthew Bronleewe (Paul Van Dyke, Selena Gomez), and producer/writer Jeremy Bose (The Band Perry, Amy Grant, Sugar + The Hi-Lows). The group’s history brought a rare depth to the writing process and allowed each member the opportunity to discover new musical identities. This trio has created an electronically laced album influenced by 80s-synth and early 90s trip hop. Freaks draws from pioneers of electronic music such as Massive Attack, Kraftwerk, Portishead and finds inspiration in 80s-synth groups including Eurythmics and Depeche Mode. Modern day influences include M83, The Postal Service, and Gotye. The Hawk In Paris exemplifies the independent music movement: three music industry veterans taking complete control of a project and creating a persona that is veiled in mystery and artistry. The group previously released a seven song EP, His + Hers, in 2012. Freaks will be released independently on CD, vinyl, and at digital retailers. The production costs are supported by a Pledge Music campaign where pledgers can receive exclusive incentives.
