This Photo of Donald Trump on His Way to a Sept. 11 Memorial Service is Beyond Mortifying

Today, on the 17th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, our president is attending a Flight 93 memorial service in Shanksville, Pa. Unfortunately for us all, that president is Donald Trump, who was photographed throwing up a double fist pump and showing off his game face on his way to the ceremony, as if he were headed to a monster truck rally and not a solemn remembrance of one of the most tragic events in American history.

At this point, expecting any kind of etiquette—hell, even basic human decency—from President Grandpa is a fool’s errand. Whether he’s behind the wheel of a big truck, standing awkwardly on a golden escalator or on his way to a Sept. 11 memorial, the man simply preens and postures on autopilot, in immutable, oblivious celebration of himself.
