Hillary Clinton Unholsters Her BlameThrower (Again): Russian Election Interference Was “Cyber 9/11”

When you spend $1.2 billion to lose to Donald Trump, you need a good excuse, and Hillary Clinton has had several of late. Between Bernie Sanders and James Comey and bad voters and bad media and the DNC and the electoral college and Trump’s lurking debate style and Vladimir Putin and even Obama, there’s so much blame to go around that there’s very little left for the candidate herself. NBC News’ Jonathan Allen, who wrote the campaign tell-all Shattered, said it best:

“Even when she’s not saying it directly, you just go through page after page after page where it’s always someone else’s fault.”

So it’s not exactly news that Clinton’s “Blame Everyone Else” tour continued in London last night, or that the Russians took center stage again. What was surprising? Her choice of words. From The Hill:

Hillary Clinton on Sunday referred to the Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election as a “cyber 9/11.”

“I think there a lot more connections that have yet to come to light,” Clinton said Sunday evening in London, according to BuzzFeed News.

Clinton said if she had been elected president, she would have called for an independent commission to “get to the bottom of it.”

It’s offensive and stupid for Clinton to compare her election loss to 9/11, but I guess when you spend two decades jockeying for the highest office in the land, only to see it stolen from your grasp by an idiot, you probably start to think of yourself as a fallen juggernaut. And what could possibly take down the perfect candidate, if it wasn’t the computer version of Osama Bin Laden’s agents flying planes into the twin towers? Surely, the only possible reason for her loss rests with Russian trolls, aka the new Al-Qaeda.

All we can say now is that we look forward to the electoral version of invading Iraq, aka Hillary Clinton announcing that she’s running for president again.
