Dumb Internet Person Jacob Wohl, Who Tried to Frame Mueller, May Go to Prison for Other Stupid Reasons

Last time we checked in with Jacob Wohl here at Paste politics, he was unsuccessfully trying to frame a man whose jurisdiction is essentially “the President of the United States.” It did not go well for young Jacob (I’d just like to repeat: on behalf of all Jacobs around the world, I denounce this idiot huckster, he does not represent the rest of us Jacobs).

Now—I have found myself incapable of writing the next sentence without breaking down in laughter—but somehow, this is true: Jacob Wohl has potentially created more dire legal circumstances for himself than the time that he tried to frame one of the most powerful men in America for sexual harassment.

We live in such unbelievably stupid times. Per Will Sommer of The Daily Beast:

Right-wing personality Jacob Wohl appears to have faked death threats against himself.

Wohl and fellow provocateur Laura Loomer went to Minneapolis last month to “investigate” whether their quest to prove that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) married her own brother—a charge based on flimsy blog comments that has been disproven.

Wohl’s videos to his fans were premised on the idea that Minneapolis is an incredibly dangerous place, and often featured him wearing a bulletproof vest. At one point in a new video about their trip, Wohl goes to a Minneapolis police station to report death threats he says he and his team have received since being in the city.

Involving the police is where this goes from a hilarious self-own to a hilarious legal self-own. According to his own “documentary,” Wohl reported threats he made to himself to the police, which is anywhere between a misdemeanor to a felony carrying a maximum ten-year prison sentence depending on the content of the false police report (Jussie Smollett was just charged with 16 felony counts for filing a false police report). The Daily Beast obtained a police report that only said Wohl gave the cops printed tweets as evidence, but did not specify which ones, so we cannot say with certainty that Jacob Wohl is in dire legal jeopardy.

But if we take Jacob Wohl at his produced word, he 100% is. Granted, this is an overgrown child who has proven himself to be as trustworthy as Trump, so there is no reason whatsoever to believe anything he and Laura Loomer (last seen handcuffing herself to one of Twitter’s two front doors in NYC) said in this “documentary.” But we do know he took some tweets to police, and one of the tweets he presented in the documentary was from an account previously uncovered by NBC as one run by Wohl—a kid who has already proven that he is stupid enough to try to frame Robert freaking Mueller. There are a lot of logical reasons to believe that Wohl did file a false police report with evidence proving its falsity, which means that if his false allegations detailed supposed felonies committed against him, us Jacobs may soon be free of our biggest burden for the foreseeable future.

UPDATE: Minneapolis Police released a redacted copy of the “threats” Wohl provided them, which did include the threat Wohl sent to himself.
