Video of the Charlotte Police Shooting Has Finally Emerged

Politics News Keith Lamont Scott

NBC News has released video taken by Keith Lamont Scott’s wife Rakeyia Scott in Charlotte in the immediate lead-up to, and aftermath of, the fatal police shooting that took Scott’s life. Per NBC:

The footage, taken by Scott’s wife, does not clearly show the exact moment he was shot by police on Tuesday. Scott is seen on the ground moments after the shots were fired and surrounded by officers.

The video of the incident is embedded below, and it contains disturbing footage. If the video is removed from YouTube, visit NBCNews.com.

Throughout, Rakeyia Scott can be heard saying “don’t shoot him, don’t shoot him,” and, after the gunfire, “he better not be fucking dead…he better live!”

The gunshots can be heard, but there is no clear line of view that shows exactly what’s happening, and the questions that have defined the incident to date are likely to persist. The police officers are seen gathering around Scott’s prone body after the shooting takes place.
