Ted Cruz Likes a Porn Video on Twitter, Blames it on a Staffer

Look, we all have our different ways of honoring the victims of 9/11. It was a horrific tragedy, one that irrevocably changed the course of our nation’s history. Some people have a moment of silence. Some brands tweet out weird reminders that they will #neverforget (thanks, VeggieTales, we were worried you might).

Ted Cruz  apparently decided to honor this day by watching porn on Twitter.

Twitter users found the video in the Likes section of Ted Cruz’s Twitter profile late Monday night, and while it was, er, yanked off fairly quickly, it was up long enough for (NSFW) screenshots to be taken:

When we discovered the post, which was I guess an hour or two later, we pulled it down,” Cruz (R-Texas) said of the incident. “It was a staffing issue. And it was inadvertent, it was a mistake. It was not a deliberate act. We’re dealing with internally, but it was a mistake. It was not malicious.”

Finally, however, someone used the controversy to get at the real issues:
