Get Paid To Spend 60 Days In Bed For Science

Looking for a quick way to make some extra cash? Love to sleep? The Institute of Space Medicine and Physiology might have the perfect job opportunity for you.

French researchers are seeking 24 healthy men between the ages of 20 and 45 to participate in a study that will keep them in bed for 60 days. The goal is to evaluate the effects of microgravity on the human body.

The idea of the study is to reproduce the feeling of weightlessness that is found on the International Space Station. The study will be conducted in three stages. First comes the evaluation of study subjects, followed by bedrest, and finally the two-week rehab and recovery period.

Participants will spend two months completely bedridden with their heads resting at a slight downward incline of at least six degrees. Dr. Arnaud Beck, a physician working on the study, explained that the cardiovascular system will be impacted under these specific conditions.

Those who join the study will receive a payment of $17,082 along with physical symptoms including a loss of muscle mass and bone density. If that doesn’t sound appealing enough, don’t forget that participants are required to perform all bodily functions while in bed.
