The 20 Best Tweets from Yesterday's Liverpool Man United Debacle

Some call it a rivalry. Some it call it a meeting of two sensitive/delusional football clubs separated by 32 miles in the northeast of England. It’s not a derby, but that doesn’t stop the press from hyping it up like it matters more than almost any game in the world.

And what did all that hype get us when it came to Monday’s tilt between Manchester United and Liverpool at Anfield? A dour goalless draw that produced very little excitement. As usual, Jose Mourinho played it up like his side—A GIANT CLUB WITH INSANE FINANCIAL RESOURCES—had done the “smart” thing by shelling or had played the better soccer. Jurgen Klopp wasn’t having it.

So while the game was bad, bad, bad, what wasn’t bad was the Twitter reaction to it. Good job Twitter! Always doing that thing where you take the piss out of games that suck.
