Apple Recalled Risky Adapters: Is Your Adapter Safe

Tech News

Apple recently announced that they are recalling the two-prong Apple AC wall plug adapters designed for use in Continental Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Argentina and Brazil. United States and Canadian adapters are not among the recalled products, but U.S. adapters, which were included in the 2003 and 2015 Apple World Travel Adapter Kit, are among those being recalled.

When touched, the adapter has a risk of breaking and causing an electric shock. To determine if your adapter is risky, look at the character code on the inside slot of the adapter. Apple also released a diagram to assist you.

If your adapter is faulty, don’t fret. You can exchange it by contacting Apple Support, making a reservation at the Apple Store, or visiting an authorized Apple Service Provider.
