Carnival Expands Its Empire

Travel News Carnival Cruise Line

Carnival Cruise Line continues to expand its empire as it builds two huge new ships for travelers to enjoy.

The vessels will top out at about 180,000 tons. Still to be named, the ships will hold 5,200 passengers. Construction will take place in Meyer shipyard in Turku, Finland. Not only can guests expect new, improved features to enhance their experience, they can also know that they are staying on the first North-American based ship powered by liquefied natural gas.

Carnival operates more vessels than any existing cruise line. Currently, there are 25 ships in circulation, not including the Carnival Horizon, which is scheduled for delivery in 2018. The announcement concerning the two upcoming crafts came only months after Carnival released their first new ship in four years, the Carnival Vista.
