See the First Image of Disneyland’s Star Wars-Themed Park

Travel News Disneyland

Did Disney really buy out Star Wars if they don’t build a ridiculously extravagant Star Wars wonderland?

The Disney Parks Blog debuted the first concept image of the Star Wars-themed “land” at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif. today. The picture encompasses the entire 14-acre area. And yes, it’s the largest single movie-themed land in all of the Disney resorts.

The image first appeared on the fence along Big Thunder Trail in Frontierland, which will be the location of one of the park’s entry points. The blog refers to it as a “never-before-seen planet in the Star Wars galaxy.” It appears to be a cliff-y and green terrain against a body of water, with a city as the centerpiece. The blog says the park will contain “markets, landing zones and buildings,” and the parked Millennium Falcon means that visitors will be able to climb aboard and channel their inner Han Solo.

The image is extremely high quality, and you can zoom in all over it to see details of the park. Though it won’t open any time soon, but it’s nice to know that a Star Wars area is actually happening. Check out the concept art below (click to enlarge).
