Go to Space with George Takei…Kinda

Travel News

To celebrate Star Trek’s 50th anniversary, George Takei— hopefully in character as Mr. Sulu— is inviting 20 guests to join him on a G-Force One zero-gravity flight on August 4.

The flight, part of the series’ 50th Anniversary convention in Las Vegas, will be aboard a modified
Boeing 727 that uses “parabolic arcs” to achieve weightlessness. Simply put: You’ll bob around the plane as if you were hanging out on the literal Starship Enterprise.

Tickets start at $6,500— nobody said it’d be a cheap flight— and include the special Zero-G flight suit, entrance to the “Re-Gravitation” Celebration, a weightless certificate and, of course, a video of you and Mr. Sulu bro-ing it out together. It may not be a trip on the Enterprise, but it might be closest anyone will ever get.
