British Airways Unleashes Fancy New Direct Flights from San Francisco to London

Travel News San Francisco

Beginning last year, British Airways began offering direct flights from San Francisco to London on its Airbus A380 superjumbo jets.

According to British Airways Flight 286 from San Francisco to London will be operated with A380s on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Boeing 747-400 aircrafts will be used for Flight 286’s schedule for the other two days. The return flights will operate with A380s as BA Flight 287, following the same schedule as the flights to London.

The airline ordered 12 of the aircrafts as part of an $8 billion program to invest in “new aircraft, smarter cabins, elegant lounges and new technologies” that will make travel more enjoyable and less like a chore. The A380 superjumbo jet can occupy 469 passengers, and its 14 suites in first class and 97 in its Club World business-class section have fully reclining seats for maximum comfort during the long journey. Talk about living the dream. Needless to say, the British Airways A380 will have more full flatbeds than any other flight departing from San Francisco.
All cabins have an advanced air conditioning system that allows 15 different temperature control zones and air that is changed every three minutes. We didn’t even know we needed that, but we’ll take it.

We don’t know about you, but we’ve already packed our bags and reserved a seat on one of these babies for as soon as we leave the office today.
