Netflix Releases First Trailer for Altered Carbon Season Two

The Netflix series set in a future society in which residents have figured out how to transport consciousness from body to body, Altered Carbon, will return on Feb. 27. According to a press release, Season 2 will jump forward in time, 30 years after the events of the first season, in which Takeshi Kovacs (Joel Kinnaman) was tasked with solving a murder.

The forthcoming, eight-episode season “finds Takeshi Kovacs (now Anthony Mackie), the lone surviving soldier of a group of elite interstellar warriors, continuing his centuries old quest to find his lost love Quellcrist Falconer (Renée Elise Goldsberry). After decades of planet-hopping and searching the galaxy, Kovacs is recruited back to his home planet of Harlan’s World with the promise of finding Quell … With the help of his loyal A.I. Poe (Chris Conner), Kovacs must now partner with new allies to outwit his enemies and find the truth: Who is Quellcrist Falconer?”

Altered Carbon is based on the 2002 novel of the same name by Richard Morgan. Watch the trailer below, and see first-look photos from Season 2 and its key art further down.
