American Gods Teaser Shows Gillian Anderson Transformed into David Bowie

Starz’s new show American Gods has generated a lot of buzz with its clever depiction of western obsessions, likening greed and vice to religion, and making new and old Gods for both. We now have a striking look at one of the new Gods.

Per Starz: “Gillian Anderson stars as the New God Media in the critically acclaimed series American Gods. Media assumes whatever form will deliver her message most effectively and is often personified by iconic celebrities.”

In episode two, Media appeared as Lucille Ball, ready to take her top off for American Gods main character Shadow Moon. In the fifth episode on May 28, we’ll see Media take the form of rock icon David Bowie to confront another New God for his past misdeeds.
