HBO Renews Bill Maher for Two More Years

Bill Maher, a talk-show host who likes to pretend he’s a funny comedian, has hosted Real Time with Bill Maher for 16 seasons at HBO. The show, which is primarily comprised of a man whining about how he can’t make any mean joke he wants without people getting mad at him, has been extended for two years, all the way through 2020. Seasons 17 and 18 are scheduled for 2019 and 2020, per HBO’s announcement.

In the past year, Maher made the news for saying the N word, being Islamophobic and normalizing an alt-right, pedophilia-endorsing fascist.

When Maher made a joke about being a “house n****r” on air, HBO said that this was “completely inexcusable.” Apparently, they found it in their hearts to excuse it, as the network’s president of programming Casey Bloys said in a statement today that they were “incredibly proud to continue our longstanding relationship with Bill Maher.”
