The re-emergence of Captain Flint rattles an already unstable Eleanor Guthrie. She is now even more confused about the direction of Nassau, and where her loyalties lie. In addition to this problem, Miranda Barlow is also becoming a part of the drama, as we see how her affair with Captain Flint began.
Captain Vane is not confused about his loyalty, and handles a problem in a very permanent way. He also paves the road to get Jack Rackham back on a ship.
