BoJack Horseman Renewed for a Fifth Season

BoJack is coming back for another season of emotional gut punches and animal puns.

Netflix announced today that their original animated series BoJack Horseman has been renewed for a fifth season, making it one of their longest-running original shows. The show’s fourth installment started streaming earlier this month.

BoJack’s renewal was revealed on the show’s social media pages via a clever video of a “clingy netflix exec” texting BoJack the good news. Judging by tweets from stars Will Arnett and Paul F. Tompkins posted today, season five has already begun production.

The show’s fourth season was, like its predecessors, met with a wave of critical acclaim, and is currently sporting a 96 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Paste TV Editor Matt Brennan recently argued that BoJack is “the defining TV series of our time,” while Paste Asst. Comedy Editor Seth Simons shared a poetic opposing take on “the sad horse show.”
