Carpool Karaoke: The Series Set to Debut in August on Apple Music

After previously delaying its release, Apple has announced that its highly anticipated Carpool Karaoke series will be available exclusively to Apple Music subscribers on Aug. 8.

The series is based on the major success of the segment on The Late Late Show with James Corden, during which the show’s host has been joined by musical guests like Adele and Lady Gaga for sing-alongs as he drives through Los Angeles traffic.

While Corden is set to make appearances, most episodes will feature different groupings of musicians, actors, athletes and pop-culture icons like Miley, Billy Ray and the rest of the Cyrus family; John Legend, Alicia Keys and Taraji P. Henson; Game of Thrones co-stars Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams, and many more for road-trip-like shenanigans. Most of Corden’s work seems to be off-screen, as he serves as the show’s creator and executive producer.

While a new episode of the half-hour series is set to release every Tuesday, the segment will still continue on The Late Late Show with James Corden on CBS, as well.

Reportedly, this is just the beginning of Apple’s venture into releasing television content, as the company is also producing a reality-competition series Planet of the Apps featuring Gwyneth Paltrow and Will.i.am., and is said to be considering producing scripted content in the near future.
