Game of Thrones is so notorious for killing its characters that you can now bet actual money on who you believe will die next on the show. Is this what you wanted, Mr. George R.R. Martin?
An Irish bookmaker, BoyleSports, has set up a market for people to place bets on who will die in this week’s highly anticipated episode, “Battle of the Bastards.” It seems as though folks do not have much hope for Ramsay Bolton, whose odds are 1/3. A trial-by-combat-deprived Cersei Lannister is just behind him, with odds of 11/4, and warrior woman Brienne of Tarth and boy king Tommen Baratheon tie for the third spot, with their likelihoods each being 9/2. The other primary participant in the titular battle, Jon Snow, gets not-much-better odds at 9/1—we wouldn’t put it past GoT to kill everyone’s favorite Lord Commander a second time.
Do these gamblers realize these are fictional characters whose fates have already been determined by a script? Maybe it wouldn’t be too foolish to place a bet in that case, considering insiders may be in on it. Check out the odds for all the characters below.
