It’s finally here.
Following yesterday’s poster reveal, the official trailer for Game of Thrones’ highly-anticipated seventh season has landed like a burly dragon. Since the series has officially left George R.R. Martin’s book series in the dust, we’re finally embarking into uncharted territory.
Everything about the trailer points to a large-scale war being imminent. At the end of last season, Daenerys’ massive, dragon-backed army was headed towards Westeros and the newly triumphant Queen Cersei. Additionally, the Night King’s army was headed south. It appears this season will focus on a huge clash between these disparate powers.
The trailer is stuffed with intense action and sweeping shots of large-scale armies alongside tense, dramatic scenes of characters furiously whispering into each other’s faces. This season appears to be shaping up as the show’s most intense and impactful yet.
