Guillermo Del Toro’s upcoming TV series The Strain just got its first full trailer after a series of eerie teasers, and looks to be full of dark visuals, horror and unsettling monsters. So pretty much everything you would want from a Del Toro project.
The Pan’s Labyrinth writer/director has been working with Lost executive producer Carlton Cuse to adapt the show from the book trilogy of the same name written by Del Toro and Chuck Hogan.
The show will center on the outbreak of a disease bearing similarities to vampirism and the efforts of a group of people to survive. The trailer showcased the beginnings of the outbreak, with a plane loaded with dead bodies arriving at an airport and all kinds of strange and terrible occurrences that follow.
With a strong team working behind the scenes and effectively eerie horror, The Strain should make an interesting addition to FX’s line up when it airs July 13.
