Watch Kit Harrington Plot to Kill the King in New Gunpowder Trailer

In 1605, a group of Englishmen came up with a plan to kill King James I and blow the House of Lords. You’ve most likely heard of the Gunpowder Plot (as it’s now known) through the story of Guy Fawkes, the man set to light the fuse. But in a new BBC One drama, Kit Harrington will play Robert Catesby, the man who masterminded the plot. Watch the brief teaser trailer above.

Interestingly, Harrington in the past has revealed that he is directly descended from Catesby himself.

The series, which will also star Mark Gatiss, Liv Tyler and Peter Mullan, does not yet have a release date.
