Watch the New Teaser Trailer for Season Three of HBO’s Insecure

The glorious awkwardness of Issa Dee is returning this summer, and HBO just gave us the first taste of what’s to come. The teaser trailer for season three of Insecure, which premieres Aug. 12, is here, and you can watch it below.

At 35 seconds short, the teaser doesn’t give us much to go on, but Issa Dee appears back to her old mirror-gazing antics, and we’re confident the new Insecure episodes will deliver. The half-hour comedy, created by Issa Rae as a loose continuation of her web series, The Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl, premiered in 2016 and has since racked up two Golden Globe nominations, both for Rae’s acting. The new season is one of Paste’s most-anticipated shows of the summer.

Season two closed out with a boundary-pushing multi-angle finale. Titled “Hella Perspective,” the finale was an extended episode in which viewers experienced the same 30-day period through three different characters’ perspectives. It will be tough to follow that episode, a creative triumph, but the new teaser is nimbly packed with season two’s same energy.
