The Peabody-winning Marvel show is one of the last standing in the Marvel-Netflix partnership after Netflix’s purge of the Defenders post-Disney+ announcement. While Daredevil, Luke Cage, The Punisher, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones once stood at the helm of the partnership, each are starting to fold up shop after Disney announced the launch of its competitive steaming platform that will host its own Marvel series.
While there hasn’t been word from Disney about if it plans on continuing the Defenders shows slewhere, the entertainment giant will be required to wait several years for Netflix to lose exclusive rights to the shows.
