Netflix’s Lost In Space Inspires Awe in First Full Trailer

Be ready to explore a new world in Netflix’s reboot of Lost in Space, coming this April. The show’s first full trailer features some incredible visuals that bode well for a streamer that is looking for an original that may garner the same amount of praise and viewership as Stranger Things. The trailer also shows the Robinson family encountering some pretty intimidating alien lifeforms as they struggle to make their way on the uncharted planet where their ship has crashed. Whatever happens, we know danger will find them and the family must struggle to survive, not only against their new environment but also against two outsiders. Finally, we see Parker Posey’s character come to the fore as one of these outsiders.

Posey plays Dr. Smith, a charismatic manipulator who is not related to the family at all but also finds herself stranded on the planet. You hear Posey say in the trailer to one of the Robinson family members, “If you have any hope of saving your family, you will help me.” Who knows if her endgame will be to actually help everyone stranded or just to help herself? Posey has really made a name for herself among independent film circles. She’s best known for her roles in indie breakouts For Your Consideration with Catherine O’Hara, Personal Velocity with Kyra Sedgwick and The House of Yes, which won her a special Jury recognition at Sundance. She’s also appeared in Woody Allen’s indie Café Society and last year’s critically adored Sundance gem Columbus with John Cho.

Lost in Space also stars Molly Parker, Toby Stephens, Max Jennings, Mina Sundwell, Taylor Russell and Ignacio Serricchio. Season one’s 10 episodes will be released for streaming on Netflix on Friday, April 13.
