Nothing Can Prepare You for Netflix’s Love, Death & Robots Trailer
David Fincher and Tim Miller's adult animated anthology series looks absolutely batshit

Directors David Fincher (Gone Girl, Mindhunter, much more) and Tim Miller (Deadpool, the new Terminator movie) have teamed up for an adult animated anthology series—Netflix’s first—that looks gloriously deranged.
To wit, a press release publicizing the anthology’s eye-popping (and NSFW) first trailer, to which you can subject yourself down below, promises “an 185-minute genre orgy of stories not suitable for the mainstream” involving “sentient dairy products, rogue werewolf soldiers, robots gone wild, sexy cyborgs, alien spiders and blood-thirsty demons from hell.”
Netflix’s press release goes on to describe the anthology in terms that are both less hyperbolic and less suitable to the trailer itself, a whirling miasma of sex, violence, gallows humor and sci-fi fireworks, all set to a cacophonous industrial-electro track:
The full roster of stories will cover a variety of adult topics including racism, government, war, free will and human nature. The anthology collection spans the science fiction, fantasy, horror and comedy genres, and each short has a unique animation style, from traditional 2D to photo-real 3D CGI. The creators were assembled for a global calling for best in class animators from all over the world including artists from France, Korea, Hungary, Canada and the U.S., among others. The series draws inspiration from the eclectic and provocative comic book material from the 1970s that influenced both Miller’s and Fincher’s formative interests in storytelling.
