Mr. Robot Season Three Gets Premiere Date, Bobby Cannavale

Maybe Mr. Robot “hacked” the 2016 election?

So that definitely didn’t happen, but given the ongoing dialogues about hacking and cybersecurity and counterintelligence and the so-called “deep state,” USA’s Mr. Robot arguably has more cultural currency now than at any previous point in its run.

For its forthcoming third season, the show will continue to track the work of hacker Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) and his steadily fraying relationship with the titular character (Christian Slater).

New to the cast in season three will be Bobby Cannavale (Vinyl, Boardwalk Empire, Antman) who plays Irving, a plainspoken used-car salesman who doesn’t take a lot of shit from people.

Joining Cannavale as a series regular will be BD Wong, previous Mr. Robot guest star playing the character White Rose. Now, the leader of the Chinese-based hacking organization The Dark Army will have a more pronounced role, as the cyber net is cast further outward.

Season three will premiere in October, but there’s no word yet on an exact date.
