Netflix Now Allows Users to Download Content to Watch on the Go

TV News Netflix

It’s about time. Netflix announced Wednesday that it will allow users to download content to watch without internet, and the addition comes at no extra cost to users. The new feature will be available globally on smartphones and tablets with Android or iOS, though downloading rights for certain titles may vary by country.

“Airplane mode. Road trip mode. Stuck-in-the-subway-for-20-minutes mode,” Netflix wrote on Twitter. “Your favorite stories are now available for download any time.”

Netflix has lagged behind some other streaming services, like Amazon, in this regard, but the service seems to understand that allowing shows to be downloaded will actually give it an extra edge. Now, go update your app and download that Gilmore Girls revival everyone seems to be talking about.
