Ryan Murphy Will Bring Another Anthology Series To FX, This One About Feuds

TV News Ryan Murphy

Television hitmaker Ryan Murphy seems to have hit upon something with anthologies. Fresh off the success of The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story and with American Horror Story well under his belt, FX announced today that Murphy is creating another series for the network, this one just called Feud. (We suppose American Feud Story doesn’t quite flow, and American Feudal Story would suggest a workplace comedy set at a Medieval Times.)

Feud is going to tell the stories of some famous personality battles throughout history, starting in the first episode with the rivalry between ‘60s movie stars Joan Crawford and Bette Davis (played by Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon, respectively). The episode will focus on how the two stars worked through a difficult relationship to film the 1962 critical and cult success What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, and it will feature such co-stars as Alfred Molina and Stanley Tucci.

There’s no release date for Feud yet, but its eight-episode run sounds promising, and maybe without “American” in the title, we’ll get to see such battles as Shakespeare vs. Christopher Marlowe, Mozart vs. Salieri, or Stalin vs. Trotsky.
