USA Network’s sniper drama Shooter will delay its premiere by a week after the recent attack in Dallas that left five police officers dead, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“In light of recent tragic events and out of respect for the victims, their families and our viewers, we have decided to postpone the premiere date for the upcoming USA Network series Shooter to July 26,” a USA spokesperson said in a statement. The show was originally slated to debut Tuesday, July 19.

The series is based on the 2007 Mark Wahlberg film bearing the same title. The drama will center on an ex-Marine, played by Ryan Phillippe, who is seeking to clear his name after becoming snared in a conspiracy. Shooter also stars Omar Epps and Emily Rios. Wahlberg serves as the executive producer of the series.
