FX’s Snowfall Gets Renewed for a Second Season

FX’s newest brainchild is an unabated success. Snowfall, a drama about the crack cocaine epidemic in Los Angeles, has been renewed for a second season, due out in 2018.

Created by John Singleton, Eric Amadio and Dave Andron, the series is averaging five million viewers at this point in its first season. Considering the show doesn’t have the star power of FX shows like Fargo, these numbers are quite promising.

Thanks to Ryan Murphy, FX also has the hugely successful American Horror Story and American Crime Story series to fall back on if risks like Snowfall don’t last with viewers. As of now, it looks like that won’t be a problem.

Episode six of Snowfall’s first season airs tonight at 10 p.m. EDT on FX. Read our review of the first three installments here.
