The Final Stranger Things Season Three Trailer Is Out

With the July 4 premiere of the third season of Stranger Things inching closer and closer, Netflix has released its last teaser trailer before the hellstorm of Hawkins hullabaloo is unleashed.

The new trailer puts the show’s thriller label at the forefront and teases the darker, extra-apocalyptic side of the forthcoming season. The darker spin serves as a contrast to the previous trailers and teasers, which were lighter in tone and mood—instead of shots of the Hawkins kids uniting and banding together, we see Nancy toting a shotgun, Jonathan wielding an ax and the gang facing off with a demogorgon in the neoned food court of Starcourt Mall. The trailer also seems to hint towards the demogorgon creature finding a new host in the semi-new, mulleted bad boy Billy.

It also looks like this season will focus on complications within the group’s dynamic resulting from the hallmarks of being a pre-teen: romance blossoming, growing apart, what have you.

The season’s official tagline reads: “School’s out, there’s a brand new mall in town, and the Hawkins crew are on the cusp of adulthood … When the town’s threatened by enemies old and new, Eleven and her friends are reminded that evil never ends; it evolves.”

The third season is set to premiere globally on July 4, with the soundtrack hitting shelves a day later. You can revisit all that we know about the third season so far here.
