Internationally bestselling Chinese sci-fi trilogy Remembrance of Earth’s Past, best known for its Hugo Award-winning (and Obama-endorsed) first entry The Three-Body Problem, is getting a television adaptation, according to a report by Caixin Global.

According to the article, a document from the National Radio and Television Administration, China’s entertainment ministry, lists a 24-episode adaptation of The Three-Body Problem by Yoozoo Pictures. This might come as a surprise for fans, as Yoozoo is the same production company that has been promising and delaying a feature-length film adaptation of the same book since 2016.

The leak comes hot on the heels of Yoozoo Pictures’ recent film adaptation of another work by Cixin Liu, the highly decorated author of the Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy. The film, Wandering Earth, went on to become the second highest-grossing film of all time in China, with a box-office gross just shy of $700 million.

Production of the television series will begin in September.

Watch a trailer for Wandering Earth which streams on Netflix in the U.S., below.
