The Walking Dead‘s Emily Kinney Headed To Masters of Sex

Emily Kinney is moving from the company of the undead to that of the oversexed. The young actress and musician, known best for her role as Beth Greene on The Walking Dead, AMC’s juggernaut of a zombie drama, has been cast in the forthcoming third season of Showtime’s Masters of Sex, Variety reports.

Kinney is set to take on the role of Nora, an intelligent and self-assured young woman who volunteers as a sex surrogate—you know, for science. The acclaimed series stars Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan as Dr. William Masters and Virginia Johnson, respectively, a pair of pioneering researchers at the forefront of the sexual revolution of the ‘60s. Nora is Masters’ next-door neighbor and involves herself in Masters and Johnson’s research, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Kinney’s acting resumé includes appearances on The Following, The Flash, The Good Wife and Law & Order: SVU. She also has a recurring role in the forthcoming second season of Cinemax’s The Knick. And Kinney is a talented singer-songwriter to boot, one who we highlighted last week in The Best of What’s Next.

Masters of Sex returns to Showtime at 10 p.m. EST on Sunday, July 12. You can watch the Season Three premiere for free here.
