Here’s Our First Look at Woody Allen’s Amazon Series, Crisis in Six Scenes

Woody Allen is certainly optimistic about his new Amazon series, an undertaking of which he “regretted every second.”

That anxiety translates over to Allen’s character in our first look at Crisis in Six Scenes. Allen plays a timid writer named Sidney Muntzinger. In the trailer, Muntzinger asks his barber to give him a James Dean look, but we all know that won’t happen until hell freezes over.

The series itself is a comedy set in the political turmoil of the 1960s, in which “a middle class suburban family is visited by a guest who turns their household completely upside down,” the synopsis reads. The six half-hour episodes will also star Miley Cyrus and Elaine May—this is a ragtag bunch for sure.

There’s only one way to find out if Crisis in Six Scenes will be a masterpiece or a trainwreck. The series will be available to stream starting on Sept. 30.
