Watch the Trailer for Arcade Fire’s Reflektor Tapes Documentary

Kahlil Joseph is directing the new feature-length film The Reflektor Tapes, a documentary which follows Arcade Fire in 2013 at a critical point in the band’s evolution. Joseph, a Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner, traveled with the band from Jamaica to Montreal to L.A. to London to Haiti, as they conceived of, created, and toured for the double album Reflektor, released that October. Now, the finished product is almost ready to be released.

The film will feature 20 minutes of previously unseen footage and an entirely new track, which might be reason enough to check it out. But if there’s one quote from The Guardian’s story that will make you desperately want to see this film, it’s this one, from the band:

“There were parts of the Reflektor tour where I think we, Arcade Fire, came the closest in our careers to putting on stage what we imagined in our heads. We were insanely lucky to have Kahlil Joseph documenting from the very beginning.”

Watch the official trailer above, and check out two previous promos below. The Reflektor Tapes will be released in the U.S. and Canada on Sept. 23.
