Marvel’s Avengers Revealed, Coming May 2020

During Monday night’s Square Enix E3 2019 press conference, Crystal Dynamics took the stage in order to debut and detail their newest videogame, Marvel’s Avengers. It will release on May 15, 2020, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia and PC. The PlayStation 4 is being favored with exclusive and early content, as well as a beta for players who preorder Marvel’s Avengers.

The debut gameplay trailer shows The Avengers tasked with stopping bad people doing bad things in San Francisco, with cutscenes flowing into gameplay and vice versa. As seen in the trailer, players will be able to control Iron Man, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Captain America. Furthermore, Crystal Dynamics outlined how Marvel’s Avengers will work as a (seemingly) live game.

Marvel’s Avengers will follow a games-as-service model where new Marvel heroes, missions and cosmetics will be added on a regular basis. All of the post-launch additions will be free and there will be no loot boxes (very good news). Ant-Man was also teased and, though it is not yet confirmed, it appears likely he will be one of the first post-launch additions, if he is not already included in the base game.

Check out the announcement trailer below.
