Imagine you’ve never heard of FIFA. You don’t know about the corruption allegations, the massive piles of cash, the World Cup in Qatar, any of it.

Now imagine hearing about it all for the first time.

That seems to be the approach John Oliver took on his HBO show, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, introducing his audience to the insanity that is world soccer’s governing body with an overpowering 13-minute monologue, ending with maybe the best analogy for FIFA that I’ve ever heard.
