Rostam Batmanglij Has Recorded An Album With The Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser

Music News The Walkmen

It looks like Rostam Batmanglij’s first post-Vampire Weekend project will be a collaborative album with Hamilton Leithauser, formerly of The Walkmen—and it could appear sometime very soon.

In a recent interview on Noise Pop Podcast (conducted by regular Paste contributor Adrian Spinelli), Leithauser revealed some details of the new project. He described it as “a record I’ve been working on for two and a half years with Rostam. It’s been a slog… a long haul. But we finally finished it.” The album made it through mixing on Feb. 25, and concerning its release, Leithauser quipped, “The sooner the better for me, I’ve got nothing else going on.”

Batmanglij and Leithauser have worked together in the past; Batmanglij co-wrote and produced the songs “Alexandra” and “I Retired” for Leithauser’s 2014 solo debut Black Hours. Check out the Noise Pop interview here, and go to the 15:40 mark for the Leithauser segment.
