Glass Animals Made a Videogame for Their Song “Season 2 Episode 3”

Each song on the Glass Animals album How To Be A Human Being is about a different character and each track is getting its own website to accompany it. “Life Itself” has a cheesy ‘90s website, “Youth” has a Tumblr page, and now “Season 2 Episode 3” has its own videogame.

Designed by Ashten “Whoopi” Winger, the game follows the same character seen in the song’s music video as she dodges soda cans, TV sets and the jet-pack wearing character from “Life Itself.” The song “Season 2 Episode 3” plays in the background while samples from it are used for the sound effects in the game. Apparently Dave Bayley, the band’s lead singer, got a score of 3,109, so that’s the number to beat.

Bayley said of the idea to give each song its own website:

You used to get artwork with the music you bought. Now, most people consume music as a track list on a blank background … maybe with a photograph near it the size of a small nipple. These websites will hopefully act as a modern equivalent to what used to come with a physical album. They can give you that insight into the music, allow you to catch references you wouldn’t have otherwise, and contextualize the album in an interactive way.

You can play the game online here, or download it for free on iOS and Android. The music video for “Season 2 Episode 3” is embedded below.
