Whole In The Wall Exhibits 40 Years of Street Art
New York's Helenbeck Gallery is currently presenting Whole In The Wall, an exhibit of American and European street art from 1970 to now. Open through June 27, the exhibit showcases work by 15 painters and two sculptors whose portfolios are scattered throughout the world's cities on brick walls and concrete streets, as well as four photographers who have hit the pavement to document the others' work.... read more

Since his stencil drawings first hit the walls of the U.K., guerilla graffiti artist Banksy has been as much a public figure as a figment of our collective imagination. To some, he's created innovative pop art (Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt shelled out £200,000 on the clandestine artist's works in 2006), to others, he's continually defaced public property. But everyone can agree on one thing about Banksy: no one knows who the hell the guy is.
