This weekend, Canadian quartet Metric paid tribute to Blondie for VH1 Divas, performing the chart-topping, disco-infused “Heart of Glass” in front of an enthusiastic crowd. The show, hosted by Adam Lambert, also included performances by Bootsy Collins, Miley Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson and more, plus tributes to Michael Jackson, Donna Summer and Whitney Houston. Metric is currently on the road promoting their fifth studio album, Synthetica. They recently released the video for “Breathing Underwater,” one of the album’s standout tracks. First they operated in the towering shadow of epic Canadian mega-band Broken Social Scene, who just so happened to release one of the finest indie-rock albums of all-time with 2002’s You Forgot it in People. Canadian indie dance band, Metric has posted more information about its forthcoming album, Synthetica. The 11 tracks included on the group’s fifth full-length record were recorded at their own studio, Giant, in Toronto and at Electric Lady Studios in New York City.
