After two years of no live performances, Phoebe Bridgers has been playing a series of phone-free pop-up concerts, starting with one in Roswell, New Mexico (hinting at an extraterrestrial theme for her rumored next album) and continuing across the South in Lubbock, Little Rock, Memphis, Jackson, Mobile, Macon, Savannah, Greenville, Chattanooga, Lexington, and Huntington. After a handful of Midwest stops, Bridgers is heading to the East Coast this week. Specifically, she’s doing an all-ages pop-up at Madison Square Garden on June 4. Tickets are available lottery-style until tonight at 11:59 p.m. for $1 through TIDAL. Proceeds from all ticket sales will go to the Community Justice Exchange’s Immigration Bond Freedom Fund, which helps bail out people in immigration detention whose cases are being processed. Ticket buyers can also choose to donate more money to the Immigration Bond Freedom Fund when they register.
After putting their phones in Yondr pouches, New York fans should expect to hear highlights from 2017’s Stranger in the Alps, 2020’s Punisher, and unreleased material that Bridgers has been playing on this recent run of gigs. Last month, photos surfaced of Bridgers in the studio with Bo Burnham, Jack Antonoff, Matty Healy, and Alex G presumably working on new music together, so we can (and should) safely assume that her third album is on the way.
