10 Style Bloggers to Watch in 2015

Style Lists

The blogger has become something of an artist, tackling niche subjects with a personal—and passionate—eye. And in the endless stream of subjects and sites, fashion blogging has especially seen a rise, becoming a firsthand source for what’s going on in the industry at large.

That’s why we’ve rounded up 10 bloggers to keep your eye on this year. After all, your cluttered blogroll is probably due for a revamp. But these aren’t just any fashion bloggers. On top of being, well, on top of things, they expand their blogs outside of their websites and onto social media platforms like Instagram. From essential bloggers like Leandra Medine of The Man Repeller to boundary-pushers like Victoria Villasana of Style Marmalade, we’ve got your daily reads covered.

Recent collaborations include Nicole Miller’s Artelier Resort 2015 campaign and Instagram photos and videos for Sunglass Hut.

4. I Go By Frankie

Let’s face it: there are the style blogs we love, then there are the style blogs we want to love but are a head mess of categories and blinking ads after about 60 seconds. Parisian and ASOS stylist Freddie’s Tietcheu’s blog, I Go By Frankie, keeps it simple and looks sharp. Tietcheu posts styling tips on both her personal blog and the ASOS website with an affinity for “clashing prints and bold colours, tomboy looks and laid-back tailoring.” One recent video post on layering colors, textures, fabrics and prints, maximizes open-toe warm weather ankle boots with socks.

Style Excerpt: “Far from the formal concept of an ever so simple blazer and its matching peg trousers, suits are getting an identity of their own.”

5. Style Marmalade

2px); width:calc(100% 2px);”>

Victoria Villasana of Style Marmalade was born in Mexico and is based in London. Villasana blogs on the intersection of art and fashion, creative collaborations with friends and other like-minded souls, posting interviews with artists. Check out her thoughts on feminism and DIY projects, like personalizing sneakers with markers and a video tutorial on making your own cape—the videos, made by ZigZagZig, are of high production quality and fun to watch.

Style Excerpt: “Sustainability means using resources in a way that does not impoverish the planet for the next generation. People tend to have the idea that sustainable fashion is boring and lacks novelty.”

6. WeWoreWhat

NYC girl Danielle Bernstein writes in the bio of WeWoreWhat that her blog used to be about street style and is now “a personal style blog and my fashion diary” on everyday fashion experiences in the city. Bernstein has also added an e-store repurposing her closet—watch for her updates on music and fashionable New York-street looks, with high-end basics and lower-priced trend pieces.

Style Excerpt: Collaboration with Topshop on jewelry inspired by a treasure-hunting adventure in Istanbul. “Whether it was the 300 year old necklace, or the pendant I turned in to a velvet choker, I wanted to find jewelry that was representative of Istanbul and different than what I usually wear (dainty gold pieces).”

7. Bethany Marie

For Pacific Northwest style inspiration, Seattle photographer and Instagrammer Bethany Marie blogs about fashion, travel, photography and collaborations with brands including Sutro Footwear and ASK’A. This photographer does portraits, travel, editorials, landscapes and advertising, as well as mobile campaigns through Tinker Street. Bethany ends up going behind the camera more often than in front of it, recently posting photos on Instagram from editorial shoots she shot for Vida and Aeropostale.

8. Where Did U Get That

2px); width:calc(100% 2px);”>

Londoner and NYC-dweller Karen Blanchard, or “Karen Brit Chick,” made it her mission when she moved to New York to find gems “where stylish local New York girls shopped.” Her contagious love and enthusiasm for the fashion hunt on Where Did U Get That takes you with her on jaunts for stellar finds in NYC and beyond. In Blanchard’s “Had to Ask” column, she stops people in the street and asks them about what they’re wearing.

Self-taught New York photographer Adam Katz Sinding’s photo site Le 21ème has a candid photojournalistic take on the streets of cities during Fashion Week shows. His photos are of fashion insiders, models, celebrities, designers and fashionable locals alike. The photographer also maintains on his site that Le 21ème is “NOT a Street Style Blog.” In a past interview, Sinding says, “I take thousands and thousands and thousands of photos each week of fashion week, and maybe 15 or so show up on my site,” and that he likes shooting Fashion Week because it’s “a little bit more theatrical [than everyday life].”

10. Man Repeller

A photo posted by Man Repeller (@manrepeller) on

Fashion and pop culture humorist Leandra Medine’s Man Repeller is by now a must-have in your blogroll for style that’s somehow both exorbitant and down-to-earth. This blog is undeterred by the guy who says your Game of Thrones-eque sleeveless leather top is “unfeminine”. I don’t want to say that the blog’s tone is “irreverent,” because that would be too ironic in the context of their recent post on “Umbrella words”—filler words thrown around that don’t mean anything — but yes, you could probably say its irreverent compared with conventional fashion/style conversation.

Style Excerpt: “Are Emojis Ruining Us?,” “When Don’t Turtlenecks Work?”, and “What Your Profile Picture Says About You.”
