Kesha Says She Was Offered Her ‘Freedom’ From Sony Contract If She Retracts Allegations

Kesha’s public battle with DJ and producer Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald has taken another unexpected turn.

The singer took to Instagram yesterday, stating in a post that she has been offered a way out of her contract with Sony. The catch? “I would have to APOLOGIZE publicly and say that I never got raped,” the 29-year-old singer wrote.

Back in 2014, Kesha accused the Sony producer of sexual assault and battery. A judge denied the singer’s motion for release from her Sony contract based on her ability to work with other producers on the music label. After the ruling, Kesha came out with a statement that she would not make more music until her contract was broken.

In an email statement to the Huffington Post, a spokesperson for Dr. Luke wrote, “The Court repeatedly stated Kesha is already free to record without Dr. Luke, and that she had not presented any facts supporting her claims. Her goal all along has been solely personal enrichment by seeking to break contracts that brought her success and millions so she can enter into more lucrative ones.”

Even in the face of such recriminations, Kesha is not backing down. “I will not take back the TRUTH,” she writes. Take a look at the singer’s Instagram post below.
