Ryan Coogler’s big screen take on Wakanda may have found its female lead.

Oscar Winner Lupita Nyong’o (Star Wars, Jungle Book) is in talks to star opposite Chadwick Boseman in Marvel’s standalone Black Panther film.

Although specific details about Nyong’o’s character have not yet been revealed, we do know that her role will see her the main love interest to T’Challa/Black Panther.

Black Panther is being written and directed by Creed’s Ryan Coogler. The character, who is both a great warrior and the king of Marvels’ fictional, technologically advanced African nation Wakanda, made his big screen debut in Captain America: Civil War. The third installment in Marvel’s Steve Rogers-centric franchise has already grossed $700 million worldwide, with plenty of time to pad that total.

Black Panther is also expected to appear in the two-part Avengers film Infinity War, slated to premiere in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

The Wakanda-based comic movie will hit theaters on Feb. 2, 2018. Production is looking to begin in early 2017.
